LIVE FIRE ITCQB

The LF ITCQB 01 combines 360°live fire with the ITCQB program, bringing a primary focus on the shooting aspect. Participants will be introduced to weapon flow techniques and individual skill-related techniques critical to their success. They will learn how to work effectively from Solo to Cell capacities and prevent friendly fire incidents by employing different strategies. Participants will effectively merge their live fire range shooting skills to the CQB context and eventually be expected to meet our ITCQB basic shooting standards. The purpose of this course is to (1) familiarize the student with the basics of high-threat close encounters (2) provide students with the tactical concepts that will mitigate and improve outcomes, and revisit the technical aspect of the employment of a handgun/rifle in such environments.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

While Force on Force exercises are excellent tools for training, it's crucial to differentiate between their use and that of live fire. Once Force on Force training has been completed and the initial acquisition of tactical training is under your belt, it becomes vital to apply the same learning in a live fire environment.

The benefits of this live fire training are multi fold.

  • it underlines the element of accountability for each shooter.

  • it desensitizes individuals to working indoors in close proximity to other shooters. This experience can not only help to reduce stress but also heighten safety awareness.

The course is divided into several stages to provide a comprehensive understanding of various facets of CQB. We'll focus on individual skills and basic CQB marksmanship, as well as drills and techniques for Solo CQB. In addition, we will introduce Pointman isolation drills and present friendly fire drills. We will also cover immediate actions at the door. Finally, the students will get to apply Two man SOPs / Tactics learned in previous courses, In a live course of fire.

STA is renowned for its prestige and expertise in 360-degree shooting ranges, which will allow us to deliver our training in higher standards.

Course learning objectives:

  • Theoretical introduction to the ITCQB, SOPs, and overall aspect of close quarters high threat encounters as well as a basic insight into ballistic considerations.

  • Individual skill. We will cover techniques regarding Search VS Shooting positions and other aspects of weapon manipulations essential to working in confined spaces. From weapon transitions to shoulder swap to ready-up drills.

  • Solo room clearing. We will focus on the work around the threshold, both with primary and secondary. Principles and priorities. Working in different speeds, reaction to contact, and other related technical considerations.

  • Friendly Fire Prevention Concept - Students will receive comprehensive information regarding safety in lethal encounters and how to mitigate and prevent such situations.

  • Two-man room clearing. From Standard procedure to the technical aspect of working with an additional teammate, we will focus on both the Tactic and technicalities of clearing rooms in the capacity of two men.
